Description

NGC3766 is a very attractive open cluster in the constellation of Centaurus, approximately 5,500 light years from earth. The cluster consists of a number of hot blue stars and some cooler stars that are orange/red in colour. I started collecting data on this as part of adjusting the spacing on my field flatener and continued one once I realised just how attractive this object is. It was necessary to limit the exposure lengths for the subs to avoid saturating the stars with the QSI camera.
